About our team

Student-led advocacy, safe spaces, and civic support for youth.

Our mission centers on creating connection and resources for students across Virginia — led by young people who know what their communities need.

Our mission

Driven by youth, grounded in community.

Communities for Youth exists to support student-led advocacy, create safe spaces for open discussion, and connect young people with civic and educational resources. We believe in elevating student voices and building long-term momentum through peer collaboration — not top-down direction.

Founded by Owen Meyer, our organization reflects what students across Virginia have been asking for: a trusted network, real opportunities to lead, and events that bring communities together.

Youth advocacy

Core decisions are made by students who reflect the communities we serve.

Safe spaces

Events and programs are designed around inclusion, respect, and belonging for every student.

Civic resources

We connect students with tools, mentorship, and local opportunities for meaningful action.

Leadership team

Meet the core team driving the organization.

Everyone on this team is a volunteer. Each member gives their own time, energy, and ideas to build Communities for Youth with passion, purpose, and peer empowerment — because we believe student leadership should be driven by students, not salaries.

Antonio Tony Green, Web Developer

Antonio "Tony" Green

Web Developer

Volunteer

Antonio "Tony" Green graduated from Garfield High School in 2026. After graduating he discovered Communities for Youth and decided to build the organization’s website. Tony is a volunteer web developer who builds and maintains the site, and he purchased the domain used by the organization. He is an active member of the team and, for now, he is the only team member with an official leadership-domain email address.

Over the next month, Tony will set up official email access for the rest of the leadership team — from Owen to Tate. Until their official accounts are ready, the rest of the team will use temporary personal emails like KrenzMG25@gmail.com while Antonio gives them access and trains them on the new system.

100% volunteer-led. No one on this team is paid. Every role — from founder to member to web developer — is filled by students and supporters who believe in our mission and contribute on their own time, energy, and ideas.
